Week #2 Albertson's & Smith's

Before I get into all the deals waiting for you, I wanted to let you in on some "lingo" for couponers:
B1G1F = Buy 1 Get 1 FREE
B2G1F = Buy 2 Get 1 FREE
Tearpad = Coupons found in aisles at stores and do NOT come in Sunday papers
Catalina = Coupons printed out at cash register when you buy a combination of specific products
OYNSO = On Your Next Shopping Order

Albertson's and Smith's deals start today and go through next Tuesday. Here are some of the ones I've found for this week:

Smith's Food & Drug
Dial Liquid Hand Soap--on sale for $1--only $0.70 each with $0.30 off coupon (1/6/08)
Hershey's Whoppers or Milk Duds 10-12 oz--on sale for $1, but look for B2G1F tearpads at the store
El Monterey Burritos 40 oz--on sale for $2.50--only $2 each with $1/2 coupon (10/14/07) this makes each burrito approximately $0.20 each
Kraft Salad Dressing--still on sale for 3/$5--only $1.17 each with $1/2 coupon (1/6/08)--starting on Feb 1, if you:
buy 3, get $1
buy 4, get $2
buy 5 or more, get $3 catalina coupon OYNSO at register

Smith's has a lot of specials going this week...if you buy 9 participating products, you can instantly get $6 back. For example, with the Kraft Dressing, if you buy 9 Kraft dressings, use 4 of the $1.00/2 coupons and get the Catalina, they will be $0.17/bottle!!!! Go look in the store for their yellow tags on participating products to save even MORE money!

Albertson's
Daisy sour cream 16 oz--on sale for $1--only $0.50 each with $0.50 off coupon (1/27/08) SALE ONLY GOES UNTIL FEB 3
Chex Mix--on sale for $1--only $0.50 each with $0.50 off coupon (12/9/07 or 1/27/07) This isn't as good a price as RiteAid this week, but still a great price for these!

My organized madness

This is the binder I take everywhere with me. It holds what I consider BIG bucks. And in case you were wondering, I am aware that it is ridiculously huge. Thanks to my mom, I have a nice organized index of the different categories of coupons. This is a big help considering the number of coupons that I keep.
I have purchased baseball card holders from Walmart that conveniently show me my coupons at each page.
I have a friend who uses a briefcase-type binder for her coupons. It comes with handles and zips up all-around. I know it's a sin, but I covet her binder. I would buy myself one just like it, but they are quite expensive...and because I am into SAVING money rather than SPENDING money, I am content with what I have. After all, it gets the job done!

More FREEBIES

Sometimes coupons come in the Sunday paper that don't require any kind of purchase -- it's just a FREE item. Here are some of the most recent:

Purina Carvers dog snacks--FREE with coupon (1/6/08 or 1/13/08)-(I found mine at Macey's...normally $2.99)
SPAM Singles--FREE with coupon (1/20/08)
Johnson & Johnson Bath Buddies Bars--FREE with $1 off coupon (1/20/08)-(As far as I know, these are only free at Walmart and Smith's because their regular price for them is $0.99.)

Also, at Walgreen's this week, you can get ChapSticks Naturals for FREE after $2 register rewards--no coupons needed

And, I know it's not a freebie, but I thought I'd let you know anyway because it's such a good deal...at RiteAid, you can get Chex Mix for only $0.38 each when you use $0.50 off coupon. These make great snacks for Super Bowl parties!

Good luck!

Week #2 FREEBIES

More super cheap and free items are sure to come this week, but for now, let me just tell you about what I've figured out so far...

RiteAid
(Remember, RiteAid does single check rebates, which means you buy the item and then enter the receipt info online and they will send you a check back. It's kind of a bummer that you have to submit the information, but it's super easy!)

L'Oreal Natural Match Hair Color--FREE after in-ad coupon, Sunday $2 off coupon (1/27/08), and single check rebate (So, you will pay $4.99 after coupons, submit the rebate online, and get your check next month)

Garnier Fructis Shine Burst hair products--FREE after single check rebate--BETTER THAN FREE with $1 off coupon (11/11/07) YAY!

Walgreen's
(Remember, Walgreen's does the same type of thing as RiteAid does with the rebate thing, but it's harder to submit your information...you have to keep track on a tally sheet and mail it in. A little more complicated...you decide if it's worth it!)

Maybelline Volume XL Seduction Lip Plumper--FREE after mail rebate

Garnier Fructis Shampoo or Conditioner--FREE after mail rebate--BETTER THAN FREE with $1 off coupon (11/11/07) YAY!

Mennen Speed Stick 24/7 Antiperspirant/Deodorant--FREE after mail rebate

Softsoap Spa Radiant Body Wash--FREE after mail rebate

5-Hour Energy pills 2-pack--FREE after mail rebate

These stores tend to run out of their FREE items quite often, so if you go looking for these and they're not there, ask the cashier for a raincheck. Now get on out there and GET THOSE FREEBIES!

A Plan for a Prepared Pantry

I'm cheap. I'm actually pretty proud of it. So I've found the perfect new passion...coupon-shopping! Each Sunday morning I look forward to seeing 5 (that's right, FIVE!) newspapers out on my driveway and I can't wait to clip those coupons! I've always been a fan of early shopping on the day after Thanksgiving because of the great deals, but also because of the major adrenaline rush you get when you actually find that "special item"! That's why I started this new blog -- so that I can those of you out there who want to find the BEST deals around will have easy access to the right info. It doesn't matter if you subscribe to FIVE newspapers or just ONE newspaper a week, I'm going to try to make it easier for all of us to get some stuff for FREE or SUPER CHEAP! If you're interested, add it to your favorites and check back often. I'm going to try to update weekly or even more often, depending on the deals!
